12 / 16 / 24 Week Evening Fashion Make-up Course

These courses are ideal for those who work full time or have busy lives and are unable to attend a full time course.

You may want to add make-up skills to complement your existing career such as hairdressing or beauty therapy or maybe you wanting to start a completely new career but need to keep working whist training.

There are 3 options when attending the evening courses:

Option 1 – 12 Week Evening Fashion Make-up course
This course covers all areas of Fashion make-up applications. This course is generally attended by people wanting to work in Bridal, Cosmetic and Photographic industries.

Option 2 – 16 Week Evening Fashion Make-up course
The same 12 weeks as above, but with an extra 4 weeks of fashion/editorial/bridal hairstyling.

Option 3 – 24 Week Evening Fashion & Media Make-up course
The first 12 weeks of this course follows the 12 week Evening Fashion Make-up course. Those attending the 24 week programme will then continue on for a further 12 weeks covering Media Make-up for TV, Film & Theatre. The 24 week programme also includes a portfolio day, where you will go to a professional photographer for the day (Saturday) and do 2 shoots on professional fashion models. This course provides candidates with a wider area of work options from Bridal, Cosmetic, and Photographic through to TV, Film & Theatre.

Courses run Wednesday Evening – 6pm to 9pm

Weeks 1-12

Week 1 - Course Introduction /Kit familiarisation/ Care and Development
Skin care / Skin types / Face shapes
Week 2 - Foundation /Concealer /Powder /Shading / Highlighting /Tones & Colours, Creating make-up for Camera, still and motion and understanding lighting
Week 3 - Eyebrow/Lip /Eye shape - corrective work & Eyeliner application
Week 4 – Beauty look (flawless skin)
Week 5 - Straight corrective Make-Up for TV & Film
Week 6 - Bridal make-up & Eyelash Application
Week 7 - Evening/ Smokey Eye Make-Up
Week 8 - Classic Catwalk uniform Make-Up & High Fashion Eye Make-Up styles
Week 9 - Camouflage Make-Up and Body /Hand Make-Up
Week 10 - Airbrushing Introduction – Cosmetic/Fashion
Week 11 - Male Model Make-Up / Black/Asian /Oriental Skins
Week 12 - Mature Model Make-Up / Careers Work and 12 week student graduation

Week 13 – Sectioning Hair/ Pony Tails/ Quiffs/ Messy Buns/ Chignons
Week 14 – Bridal Hair/ Classic & Contemporary
Week 15 – Curling Techniques/ Loose Wave, Fashion Frizz & Hollywood Glamour
Week 16 – Catwalk Hair looks and 16 week student graduation
Week 17 – Body Painting/ Creative/ Avante Gard Make-up & creative Eye Make-up Styles
Week 18 – Stage Make-up/ Straight/ Character/ Ageing
Week 19 – Working with Briefs/ Treatments/ Scripts/ Continuity & Budgeting
Week 20 – 1940s & 1950s Make-up
Week 21 – 1960s & 1970s Make-up
Week 22 – Bruises/ Black eyes/ Split lip/ broken nose/ Illness/ Sweat & Tears
Week 23 – Scratches/ Grazes/ Bullet wounds/ Spots & Blisters
Week 24 – Portfolio Day (Saturday)
