Prosthetics | 4-Week CourseThis course offers intensive training in the art of prosthetic/special effects make-up. Prosthetics is a specialised area of make-up artistry. Whilst most make-up artists have basic skills/knowledge in this area, this course offers an in-depth insight to the world of prosthetics. The course gives practical training, so that you will be able to gain work in drama and film. The classes are intimate and personal, with no more than 14 students in each group. The prosthetic studio is unlike many others in schools and colleges, as this studio is actually an active prosthetic workshop. This means that prosthetic effects are constantly being designed and created on site for current and forthcoming TV and film productions. Whilst attending your course you will not only be training in this real life industry environment but may get the opportunity to be involved with projects for future TV & film productions. Many of our ex graduates were involved in the making of prosthetics for programmes such as the BBC’s medical drama “Bodies” which won a “Royal Television Award” for most outstanding prosthetic make-up and also the recent “Doctor Who”, winner of a “Bafta” award for best make-up, “Hyperdrive” (2006/7) , “Cold Blood (2007) ”, “The Chase” (2007) , “Lillie’s” (2007) and “Wire in the Blood” (2007) .
