Davy JonesDavy, the School's prosthetic tutor and student mentor, has worked in the media industry since the early 1980’s. Davy started out as a props maker and designer on Channel 4’s “ Brookside”. Davy started his prosthetics career in the early 1990’s and has never looked back since. His success as a prosthetics make-up artist is now global and he has one of the highest regarded reputations in the field. He recently received a “Bafta” award for his work as Make-Up Designer on “Doctor Who” (BBC 2006), also a “Royal Television Award” for the prosthetic make-up designed for “Bodies” (BBC 2004) medical drama and more recently an “Emmy” award in 2005 for most outstanding prosthetic make-up on “The Life and Death of Peter Sellers”. His TV Make-Up Designer credits include:Doctor Who (Bafta), Bodies (RTS), Wire in the Blood (Prosthetics), Cold Blood (Prosthetics), The chase (Prosthetics), Second Coming, Flesh and Blood, Cops, Always & Everyone I, II and III, Queer as Folk, Hyperdrive, Thief Takers and Liverpool 1. Film credits include:Blade 2, Band of Brothers, Pirates of the Caribbean, Alexander the Great and the Life and Death of Peter Sellers (Emmy). |
